Description

MSM01c is module for driving two-phase stepper motor with low resistance and inductance.

Module is controlled by four two-level control signals:

  • STEP change of signal level makes one microstep in direction determined by DIR signal
  • DIR defines motor direction
  • MICRO function is selectable by jumper
    • 1) Switches microstepping 4/16 during motor run
    • 2) Reduces motor current to 1/2 (microstepping is selected by jumper)
  • ENABLE Enables the power part

Level of control signals is selectable independently for each signal, 24 V or 5 V.

Unit contains two independent PWM current controllers which controls current amplitude in each winding. Maximal current amplitude is selectable by jumpers in 6 levels 1.810 A. In power reduction mode, the current is decreased to 1/2 of selected maximal amplitude. This can be used for power reduction when motor is stopped.

  • Max. load: depends on power supply voltage of power part, selected current and temperature. Higher load needs additional cooling.
